Keratex - IS it bad for YOUR skin?

Quick question........................I got keratex on my face last night and thismorning I had a huge blister!!!

Now its gone all ikky and I'm sure it's not good!! It never said that it was bad for your skin

Apparently yes!! My farrier told me to wear gloves when I first started using it.......it's pretty strong stuff.

Dont get it in your eyes either (kinda what it says on the label...) I splashed a bit in my eye once and my god did it hurt!!

Just about to say the same thing - it was almost as bad as creosote.

I got a tiny bit on my hand once and it REALLY hurt!!!
A blister on your face? OUCH

It is dangerous yes. I believe it may be formaldehyde. Check the packaging.

Seek medical advice.

apparantly you can get straight formaldehyde from chemists and it works much better and is much cheaper

Yes it is formaldehyde and it is harmful to your skin and eyes and toxic if swallowed. You should wear gloves when using it and any splashe should be washed of with water immediately.

I hope your blister clears up soon, it sounds nasty. I would seek medical advice if it is all yukky....take the box or instruction leaflet of the keratex with you so they know what it is.

Waaa booger! Oh well! Skin came off the blister :x now, and it stings!
Lathered T-TRee oil on it and fingers crossed as it doesnt look to bad, just kinda red.

Oh blimey, sounds nasty. Just keep it clean and keep an eye on it for any infection. Hope its not too sore!!
