Hi

Ive just bought some and was wondering how to get the damn stuff out of the tin to start with

I use a knife, then roll it between your fingers to soften it up.
Getting the lid back on is also difficult.

My farrier has used this in the past and he put in a dish of warm water to soften it before he used it. Mind you it was about 4 degrees that day!

Love the stuff, expensive but well worth it. I used a hoof pick to get the lid off and then the hoof pick to scrape the stuff out. Then you need to warm it up with your fingers and it will then mould easily to your horses hoof. Or alternatively get your farrier to do it!

Warm it up, cut out 5-10 small balls of the stuff and keep them in cling film in a plastic container, that way you won't have to warm it up every time.
