Probably a smart decision for them. They have added quite a high first aid fee on all their entries which hasn't been popular. People will start realising how much it actually costs to run competitions venues and that financial prioritising is the only way to continue to offer the facilities.

I understand the costs, I run shows. But it is a shame to lose more and more venues. I've had to pretty much give up BD as I can't find weekend shows anywhere close and gave up on BE years ago as there are so few venues for the money that I can't justify it.

I don't see how competition is going to survive the next few years.

I am genuinely gutted by this. Was my favourite BE venue by a mile and not too far away. The ground was always reliable, something that can’t be said for some of the East Mids all grass events, so we favoured Keysoe over most others. Loved showjumping in the main arena too.

The BE calendar is struggling for events over this way.

They had large numbers for the International and the entries are much higher. A lot of people would have done 2-3 days at the event even with it being 2*S and 3*S, so if they cannot make money from that then they are really going to struggle. Bicton always says its much more profitable to run Sjing than eventing. In 3 days they can make double the money from Sjing than eventing.
