Hi went to the keysoe eventer training and had lessons with, Nat dixon, Sharon Hunt, Matt Lani and Jill Day.
Had Nat first poppy has never jumped solid fences, so once id shown her a few (we jumped the portables on the all weather), she was flying so impressed with her, really got my confidence up (havent jumped anything solid in 7 yrs), just got my usual keep my legs still and hands down. We managed to jump on angles and she seemed to love it.

and oh dear she took a flyer:
Then had a lesson with Jill Day, who made me go back to basics and concentrate on one thing at a time, as she struggles to have a even contact, so we spent the whole time bending her to the outside, she didnt want me to have the contact so she reared, bucked, stopped and ran backwards, and then she gave in and felt fab. Need lots of practice but had a play in my warm up today and it gets easier.
Today I had a lesson with Sharon Hunt, she made me shorten my stirups to make me more balenced and secure. really liked the idea of half halts to control her as she seemed to be getting stronger, and was cutting the corners. However because my stirups were now so short, (they barely passed the saddle) when it got more complex and she backed off, I couldnt put my leg on. So I managed to fall off twice in 2 mins, which knocked my confidence slightly (im fine just bruised pride). I put my stirups down again and felt so much better, so will be keeping them at my normal length.
Last was SJ with Matt Lanni, worked on getting a even canter, she always seems to be to slow or fast and then about 8 strides in front of the fence sitting back and getting them to sit on there hocks, found it so useful and will be practicing this also.
So have lots to work on and have given me so much confidence over x-country fences. Going to go schooling a few times, with instructors then maybe a hunter trial or 2 then will aim for a intro in september. So pleased with my Girl.
