The diesel automatic can pull 3.5t - but beware, its the full £400 tax for that one!
The manual can pull 3t, the tax is less (about £220 I think)
Mines the automatic and I love it, pulled 2 horses in an old IW trailer up all sorts of hills no problem. And that was with 4 people and a car full of camping gear this weekend!
Only had it 2 months, so cant comment on mechanical problems, but Kias have a good reputation for being reliable. My friends dad is an ex RAC man and he doesnt know much about them, which is always a good sign!
Milage - I get about 360 miles to a tank which costs about £70 - I think I use about £40 a week going to work and yard, around 200 miles.
Towing, the milage is obviously lower, but I couldnt really give any figures on it.
I have the 2006 2.5 Auto Diesel, but mine can only tow 2.8t
However its also in the lower tax bracket F, so only £215 to tax
MPG are a bit sucky, but I only have a 10 mile drive to work. I generally get around 280 miles per £50 fill up (I don't allow it to go below a quarter as live in the middle of nowhere)
My friend has one and it tows her 2 16.2hh horses with no problems. It's also nice on the inside - not sure which model heres is but it's a manual 07 reg.
I have an 09 2.5ltr diesel auto and the tank is about 80ltrs and I can do about 500 miles on that as long as I dont get stuck in traffic and I switch to manual and dont use the air conditioning.
Diesel consumption towing isnt that much more - as long as I drive as above.
It is rated to pull 3.5T and it doesnt feel an IW at all, but I did feel an equitrek trailer.
Tax is £405 p.a and insurance wasnt bad - as it is a big slow car, only the value of the car put the premium up about £200 more than my old car which was 8 yrs old so worth virtually nothing whereas this car is still insured for the full list price.
Comfortable car to drive - doesnt feel big. Was convinced by RonaldoToo who absolutely loves her Kia! Drive is quite comfortable and I bought the XT which is the top of the range model so have all leather etc
2 friends of mine have them, one pulls an Equitrek Show trekka (I think, it has the comfy bit at the front) with hers no trouble at all. She bought it to tow the Equitrek. The other one tows a 505 and much prefers it to the Discovery it replaced which died... (as they do
