Yep we towed a mental TB in one, it was an automatic and towed lovely and was economical too

Actually thinking about it, the name doesnt seem right, think ours was something else beginning with S lol Sorento? sorry worse reply ever!

You can tow up to two tonnes with the manual diesel but the others aren't really up to it.

The old Sorrento on the other hand is lovely to tow with. The new one not so much as again, it isn't rated to tow much over two tonnes.

According to weight etc i can.tow with it (will only be one pony in a lightweight trailer)

To help those reading...

Sarah will be towing on a B licence using a trailer with a MAM of 1400 to 1600 which can be downplated to 1300 if necessary and the trailer has an unladen weight of between 655 and 770 depending on which type and model is chosen so can easily carry a pony/horse of 500

When I was looking into Kias 5 years ago the salesman told me not to even consider towing a horse trailer with a Sportage - he said they're strictly meant for lightweight caravans, and that they don't have enough grunt for large caravans or horse trailers. He said to get a Sorento (which I did, and it was lovely!).

The sorento has too high a GVW at 2550 to be any good for towing on a B licence

So if its legal to tow a trailer with a sportage why shouldnt i? Surely a caravan weighs a fair amount. Ahh its so confusing.

Many caravans weigh under 1000 fully laden because they are large boxes of air !!

I tow an Ifor 505 with a Kia Sorento, I really rate mine. Was gutted when they brought out the new model which is too light to tow a horse trailer.

Good combination for those with a B+E licence but the OP needs a combination for B licence towing

I've just bought an older Sorento to tow my 405.I have a B & E licence though,as am old.The salesman said not to bother with a Sportage for towing.

He said he'd used the Sorento to tow Landrovers and Rangerovers out of muddy fields before.

Thanks guys but doesnt help as i cant use a sorento on my license & i havent got the budget for a sorento anyway
