As well as his OCD my 4 y o has managed to get kicked yesterday. He is going to Newmarket next Monday for arthroscopy on Tues, on hocks and stifles but now has a big knee too.
Do I need to tell the hospital or shall I just take him?
He is sound on it, had a bute last night and one this morning, has one in his tea for tonight. It is very swollen though, with a small scab where the shoe got him.
Someone turned a horse out thats been in due to snow and they all went for a hoolie and a squesk over the fence.
I have been cold hosing it.

I'd let them know, they may well not be bothered by it but best to let them know just in case.

I've found tubigrips and ice packs good for knees; my horse had a teeny cut on his knee that swelled up massively due to said horse being a diva, and I put a tubigrip on to a) provide support and b) hold an icepack in place, and it really did help.

Cold hosing will do the job too, but the icepacks involve less standing around for 20 mins
