The foal kicked my face today - full up, double barrelled me...

I'm SORE... they kept me in the hospital for 15 hours for observation, then let me out.. Not sure if the nose is broken yet, it's still too swollen!!

Feeling a bit sorry for myself, although I was VERY lucky....

Eep that looks nasty ((hugs)) naughty foal!

Think there must be some kind of HHo conspiracy going on at the moment with everyone getting injured.

Hope it isn't broken!

I was in handling the foal, he's got a foal slip on, and we were going to try and get him leading... I know he's a kicker, so I always stay RIGHT on his butt... never give him the chance to get a good kick in... I was walking along the back wall, in tight to his bum, he lurched forward and double barrelled me... I WAS side on to him, and he should have got me on the side of the head, but something self preservation kicked in, and I turned to face him... Had he got me on the side of the head, the doctors said I most likely wouldn't be here to tell the tale...

I *WASN'T* wearing my helmet, but that's a contentious issue anyway, as it would have been a LOT worse if I'd been wearing my peaked hat, as it would have been a reverse-rotational type injury, and I most likely would have had a serious neck/spinal cord injury. I think tomorrow though, I'll be wearing my skull cap... Just to be on the safe side...

Thanks for the support and hugs!

Blimey, what a little git!!! Bet you're feeling sore after that, but your consolation is that, as you said, it could have been a lot worse!! How are you feeling today, got black eyes??!

Edit, just read a previous post from you a couple of weeks ago - bet A&E know you by name now!

Sorry I don't know how to make these smaller, but here's pics from Day2... We're taking bets on it being WORSE tomorrow, then better the next day... I start a new job on Monday though, and at this rate of going, I'm going to look like a Women's Refuge ad campaign!!

Yup, I actually had the same doctor as last time too... 3 head injuries, and 2 hospital visits in 10 days!! Not too shabby, eh?
