I have a lovely 4 year old wb gelding I am having a few issues with. He was going very well in the summer and we have taken things slowly since. He's upto date with his teeth, he's had his saddle fitted and has his back done. The past few weeks he's not been quite himself. We had a Sj lesson and after popping a few fences he didn't want to continue almost seeming a bit lethargic, he's becoming tricky to handle and today I couldn't tack him up to hack him out. He tried to kick and bite me and was swishing his tail. I have another chiropractor coming on Friday and if nothing is found then my vet is coming out. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Many thanks

I would forget the chiro until he has been seen by the vet, the chiro should not be treating without consent anyway and will probably find something to treat which may well not be the cause but a symptom of what is going on.
It sounds like classic ulcer symptoms to me, splashing acid when jumping could have been painful now he is very uncomfortable and telling you in no uncertain terms, it probably ties in with him coming in at night at a guess.
