Not all kids (before I rant) sorry!

But it seems whenever I advertise a horse for sale, all I get is kids phoning asking "will you loan it out, I am a really good rider".

When I advertise a horse for loan, I get kids call me, and when I ask if their parents are about to talk to I get told "Oh mum doesn't know/doesn't want me to have a horse!"

I know that sometimes kids have to make the call - my mum would never phone anyone for me - but she was always there to speak to the owner if they requested.

I'd just sick at the begining:

"Serious buyers only, no time waster's, beginers, Loans, or Children ringing without Parents permission"

That'll do the trick

Lol, should still stop the annoying children though!

I rang up to enquire about Oscar as my mum always tries to get me to do things for myself and be a bit more independent (after all I won't be living at home forever! I hope...

) but I was seriously looking to buy a horse and had parents permission etc.
I agree that the best thing to put in the ad would be about "no time-waster, loans, etc" although unfortunately some people arent able to read and will still ring up anyway...

I once advertised a horse for loan, a 5yr old green arab cross, i did say she hadnt done much and she needed a very experienced rider but i still got kids, novices calling! One kid said weve seen your pony in the paper and want her, when can you bring it? When i talked to him i found he didnt ride (wanted to learn with the pony!) had nowhere to keep her exept the grass verge, i suggested he went to a riding school for a couple of years before they got a pony!

I was plagued by pony club mums wanting loans for their children when I advertised my mare for sale. Ugh. Tried to make me fall for the "but we'll give her a lovely home in the country" line. And I would say, yes but what would you be giving me in return? Would you be expecting a free horse? Aaargh. If you are lucky enough to have your own land in the country and not pay livery fees, then you can damn well afford to BUY a horse. Sorry, took over your rant a bit there!
