Hi,

So, I'm in need of a weymouth bridle (with flat noseband) for a country show we're doing...its all a bit last minute and unfortunately I haven't got alot of cash to spare.

Ebay have nothing 2nd hand on at the moment...what do people think of the Kincade bridles?? Or does anyone have a suggestion for a double bridle that won't embarass us at county level!

I have one. They are not the best quality leather in the world, but then again what would you expect for £35! Certainly good enough for the money, and useful as you get both sets of reins included. Would highly recommend oiling/greasing the reins first as they are rather stiff and the buckle ends stand straight up from your hands! Defo a good emergency or first show bridle buy.

I also have a Kincade double - agree with irishcob, better than I expected for the price and a good emergency buy but not great quality and doesn't look so good 2 years on, despite regular care! If you are short of cash (who isn't?!!) and need one asap then I'd go for it. Good luck!

Thanks guys! It so hard, ideally I'd love to be able to go and spend £100 on a new bridle, but thats just not going to happen at the moment!

I've put a sliphead on her hunter snaffle but it just doesn't look quite right.

Found the dever website, but couldn't find a double on there :(

Any other suggestions gratefully received!

They're very good value for money and if you spend a bit of time conditioning it, it looks plenty good enough to show in.

However, they are fairly chuncky and don't really suit dainty heads.

Hmmm well she hasn't exactly got a dainty head, but isn't exactly a hunter either...more riding horse type...

the kincade leather is horrible. and gets worse with age. fine for an everyday work bridle but not really nice enough to show in. i would buy a good english slip head and put it on your bridle. or beg and borrow from some friends/instructors and save for a good quality english leather, made in england bridle. if you buy a cheap one now you will only end up buying a good one later. good luck at the county show.

iv got one, but its still sat in my room! it was to small fo prince so it has been donated to grace! i think its ok, but does need a bloomin good oil! is good enough for some local showing!
