King of Diamonds - Dates?

Without googling too much can anyone tell me when King of Diamonds died? From what I can see he was born in 1962 so I hardly think he would be the sire of animals who are only about 6 or 7? Correct me if I'm wrong but just looking at ads (on the right hand side of the page) and wondering??

I know lots of people claim his bloodlines but perhaps in this case there is another sire with the same name?

He died in 1991 AFAIK.

I know lots of people do still claim his bloodlines. One of the horses I ride is (according to her - very lovely - owner) "by King of Diamonds". He is actually her great-great-grandfather on the dam's side if i remember correctly!

My mare was one of the last KoD mares still breeding and she's been dead 3 years now. So, I have a 6yo whose grandsire is KoD.
