Hi - I just had an email about the next 2 meets (31 Jan/14 Feb) and I will certainly try to get along to one of them - I usually park at my sisters yard and hack along as the parking can be quite tight at Kilduff, so it depends when they are all going. I am sure with the long lay off all the horse will be quite fresh!

I'd hoped to have my first hunt outing this winter but pony took colic and is now extremely fat, hairy and unfit so will have to wait until next year but might try a ride out in the summer to see how he is.

Cheers! To be honest... it was the cantering and jumping that was appealing to me! However, I'm trying to work out if horse/me will be fit enough after 4.5 weeks off and only being back in work 2 weeks by the 31st. Will play it by ear next weekend and see what weather etc is like.

Will let you know if we're heading and say hi! :D

Had a look at the photos on their website and there seems to be a 50:50 split of proper jackets compared to blouson type jackets. Think I'd get away with my navy RC jacket (it has white embroidery across the back)? To compensate, I could plait the pony?! ;) (none in the photos seem to be plaited!)

Hi

Think every one in same boat - most horses will have missed a few weeks of work.
Im geting the yard to hack Moo out twice this week for me as still not light enough in mornings - Ill school etc on other days - just cant subject his mind to the school more than couple times a week.

I hope that we get the ground drying up a bit - at weekend some bits our way were quite deep...

fingers crossed

Hey, afraid I am heading over to SNEC for their unaff SJ instead. :( Feel both of our fitness levels will cope better with 2 x SJ rounds compared to hunting and I'd really want to be experiencing the full thing, with all the galloping and jumping included! Maybe another time, hope those who are going have a great day. :)
