Hi,

We are putting in an offer on a house in Kirkby tomorrow, fingers crossed it gets accepted. We currently live in Essex, and even though my parents are in Kirkby, they're not horsey at all.

I am going to be looking for livery or grazing, my own field to rent would be a dream, for 2 or 3 horses. (Not 100% sure my old boy will be moving, friend willing to care for him down here as he doesn't take change well, and the journey may be too much for him).

Could anyone recommend places for me, or tell me where there are tack shops I can send the parents to to look at the notice boards please?

Tha k you.

"GOOGLE" shows 5 tack shops near kirkby === " www.*******.co.uk " shows 13 livery yards in the area . That should help you out a bit, if you see something you like locals can reply to your questions.

www.******* doesn't include many of the yards around and doesn't have details for some that are on it. I'm 3 miles from K in A if you want to PM me.

True, some it gives details about some it doesn't ,but it shows the address and phone numbers so you can ring and find out what facilaties they have, prices hacking arena etc. of the 13 pick 3 or 4 to your likeing then go and see them on a sat/sunday in one visit .As an experiment i googled Birchwood equestrian (on ******* it only gave an address and phone no. ) , Google gave me a website address and a facebook page , loads more detail without leaving the house. the system works if you use it.

I can put you in touch with a couple of old friends who live in the area and still have horses up there. Let me just check she's happy for me to send you her details.

Hi Theresa, am on my phone so can't PM you but am reasonably local to where you will be moving too so PM when you get here if you want a chum in the area. Can't help with livery etc as new to area myself and horses live at home so although I know a few names of places I have no idea what they are like! :) xx
