My horse has been lame bilaterally behind since last September, our own vet was treating him for suspensory ligament damage, however as he wasnt getting any better he went to Newmarket Hospital a couple of weeks ago.

My vet has tried to explain the issues to me but I am a bit confused, Ive had the report through this morning and its still as clear as mud- basically states that the main issue is lumbosacral syndrome, compounded by kissing spines and 'arthropathy of the thoratic spinal processes' (a google search points to this being arthritis of the spine).

Vet has suggested retiring him, which Im fine with, but was wondering if any one has any experience of any/all of these conditions, and what was the prognosis? Am I right in believing these conditions are degenerative? +And is there anything more I can do for horse?

Thanks for reading my ramble!
