KK bits - again!!!!

When I tried my 15.2hh TB he was being ridden in a KK Ultra snaffle with an Aurigan mouthpiece - when I bought him I was a cheapskate and bought an ordinary snaffle with peanut lozenge, which was stainless steel not Aurigan.

A couple of months down the road I swapped back to the KK Ultra (on permanent loan from my instructor now, who I also bought the horse from

) as the horse went much better in the KK one

Now he is getting strong when jumping, so I have borrowed a friend's KK Ultra Universal which seems to suit him really well - but I have done a quick google and they are £190 new

Can I replace the Ultra snaffle with the Universal on the snaffle ring, then change to using the lower ring on the Universal for jumping? Just thought it would be easier, and save money, just to use one bit

You can get the Universal cheaper than that, just search around! Ebay often have them 2nd hand which can be quite good.
You could leave just universal on, but snaffle ring would have slightly more action than a normal snaffle. There not dressage legal either (not even when riding on snaffle ring).
NS do a copy which is quite alot cheaper, but I personally prefer the KK's and have found my horses do as well.
