Knacker man (sorry)

Don't know if diplocks do - they cover etchingham.think they are based in laughton - are mostly livestock but do horses. They are brilliant. Otherwise David Funnell probably would. He covers most of south east and was amazing when my boy was pts.

East sussex and romney marsh hunt kennels at catsfield! Not sure if they offer a service or not, they used to.
JLD nice to know Diplocks still in business they used to be based near me in Ringmer until I escaped from the area about 30 yrs ago lol

Sorry are you asking in terms of 'meat' as there is only one licensed horse abbatior left in the uk now?

A knacker man means to me someone from the local hunt that will dispatch and remove the body, commonly for hound flesh.

For example our local knacker man is an ex huntsman and charges £145 for a horse and £90 for a pony and certainly doesn't charge by the 'kg'!

L&M is correct, you will not be paid unless you book in & then arrange to take the equine to Potters at Bristol.
They usually have a bit of a time to wait, before xmas it was 3-4 weeks, not sure what it is at present.

Otherwise knackerman/hunt will despatch & remove for a fee. My local chap is £150 for despatch & removal, whatever the size.

Another recommendation for David Funnell and his professional and compassionate team. He, together with my wonderful equine vet, assisted my beloved old horse to slip away with a quiet dignity. R's death was a planned "day too early" one. I have been there when another owner's horse had a catastrophic episode and collapsed. David Funnell and team were there very quickly, worked with traumatised owner and worried vet, and was able to assist when poor horse died before a decision was made.
