Well all started off very early this morning going it to work for an hour then off home to load song up at go!

Got there in plenty of time and set off to walk the XC - lovely course with some big hedges and good ground

Umm dressage - i hate doing sitting trot as i feel i just bounce so that was kept to a min in the warm up and was just trying to get a bit of omph to our trot but the canter was better than it has been. Went down to the arena and started bit a very wobbly 1st halt then was ok but my 10m circles were very odd shapes and was bit slow on the uptake in med trot but otherwise canter walk canters were good for him except he stops dead then walks!! Anyway me thinking it was an awful test he got a 35.7 which put us 15th after dressage

On to SJ - for IN i didn't think it was that big. He warmed up well and even had a buck

song never bucks, so maybe more food = better song!! Went in and rode like a muppet to the 2nd to we duly went through it

think we took 2 poles out but hey better than just tipping it! Then went on to jump the rest great just need to get him more on his hocks as hes always chipping in.

XC - as we had done a good dressage and SJ i thought i would run XC and he was great - 1 was a lovely 1/2 roll top with green on it, 2 was rails, 3 a table, 4 a skinnieish combo on the turn, 5 the 1st hedge, 6 to 7 was a drop left handed to a skinnie done in fine mary king style with my rain by my ears, 8 were rails, them 9 to 10 a&b was a flower bed to a ditch one stride rail, 11 was a chase fence where i practised looking like a jockey

12 was another hedge, 13 was either a corner or a bounce i took the corner, 14 another hedge, 15 to 16 were filled in rails to a turn in the corner of a field, 17 a wagon, 18 a & b was the water a roll top to a step in, 19 was a rail oxer and 20 was a square oxer! He was great flew around just seeming to meet every fence on the wrong stride.

So finished a bit inside the time so got 3.4 time pens

(and i thought we were going slow!) To finish 7th i no its not a major ribbon but so pleased with him as i think INs are very much dressage comps but the SJ was proving tough with only 5 clears in my section and XC time quite tight there were about 10 in each section inside the time the rest had slow pens but i wasn't the only on too fast there were 3 of us!!

Forgot to say met the lovely Gambird, her horse and Dogs - And was talking to dad afterward on how i don't think ive ever meet someone off here that wasn't lovely! Also saw tabledancer but not to talk to - so hope you had a good day!

Here are a few pics -

Gosh you got home quick! Well done, fab day but you needn't have told everypne that the SJ wasn't huge. I didn't think it was enormous, but I thought my eye was out after jumping Int and 1.20 BSJA! It was big enough though.

Nice to meet you and how lucky are you to have a helpful and camera friendly dad!

Great stuff, well done! and you're both looking very classy.

He must float around the course to get inside so easily.

Definitely roll on Hartpury!!

I gathered you were doing the IN as you said you did Inter dressage and mentioned IN further on in the post, just mistakenly put Novice in title.
So the pink numbers were used in the *? That would make sense, I thought there were way too many shared fences that looked a bit tricky for PN.
