knee and hock bandages

hi i did my stage 4 exam a few days ago and had to do a knee and hock bandage....i put gamgee and then softban on as i thought this was the best combination to use....i got a report back saying not a support bandage underneath what should i have put i thought the gamgee was the support?!

When my horse had a knee injury, she had like the gauzy bandage stuff, then cotton wrap, then vetwrap.

Sounds to me like they mean that you didn't put stable bandages on the legs? You would do this to help prevent swelling lower down the leg, and it also helps to keep the knee/hock bandage in place. Have you access to someone familiar with the exams themselves? Perhaps an ex-examiner who could give you a session on all the little things people fail for? It's easy to be generally competent yet still do something that has to be a 'x'.
