Hi again
Think my mare had banged her knee one night whist in her stable her knee was swollen and just above the knee the next morning, got vet out even though she was not lame he said she had banged a tendon or ligement just above the knee(can't rember which been so long) but as she was not lame and they don't use this tendon or ligement just carry on as normal it will go down in a month or 2, then she got kicked in her knee, still not lame then kicked again with in a month still not lame.
Called vets again as was convinced there had to be some damage, again vet checked her no lameness gave me some bute to help with the swelling cold hose her ect been doing all that but still sweling after 3 month.
Do i call the vet back out? any ideas help!

i would be asking for a different vet to come and take a look.My horse had a swollen knee after an accident in the field,he was lame, came sound, went back into work and then went lame and knee swelled again.I had him on box rest and individual turnout with anti inflammatories. My vet was talking about scanning him if the swelling still persisted.Initially there was concern about a possible bone chip.It sounds like a tendon or ligament damage of some kind so I would be wanting the vet to scan it to see the extent of the damage. However I know that sometimes with knee injuries the swelling doesn't go away and you end up with an enlarged knee.

Thanks, I was thinking new vet but not sure which one most people on my yard use the same vet will have to look in to another vet I ask around.
