My new Westropp Knee brushing boots have just arrived and I make no apology for reminding people of the harm the road can do to knees .I found this out many moons ago and always ride in these boots on the road now. I had knee boots on at the time but the horse had just been shod and shied and trod on the side of his shoe which was slightly proud and the knee boots flipped up and the horse had terrible knees from the fall.
If this makes one person think ,then it is worth it.

I agree - having had a horse that went down on a long distance ride and hurt his knees - he always wears them now when out and about - although be it too late !

However, I am desparately looking for a nice pair or BLACK leather ones for my girly - and all I can find is Brown ones - The boy's are Jeffries knee boots but they only come in brown leather - I want the same or something similar in BLACK leather and cant find them anywhere .....

Anyone know where I can get some?

Interested to hear about anyone who had recomendations for the type that are like brushing boots but that extend upwards to protect the knee (carthorse is that yours?) - F is a clumsy bum at times and I wouldn't ride in the school without them, let alone out, but I did get fed up of getting off every 5 minutes because the other style fell down so much! His owner bought him a pair off ebay but they're not branded, and at some point they will wear out!

. You gave me a push to do something about it as been meaning to for months to get some type of knee boot.

My boys always wear the westropp ones whenever going out on the road. I work in a saddlery so can get them cost price, either that or i buy them off ebay. I wouldnt be without them.
