Was a happy me yesterday - now iam feeling a bit down
phone call out of the blue from the ponys owner, she wants to sell her, we can't afford so poor little Mischief has got to go back. Oh well, its the risk of loaning I guess and we have had great fun and happy memories this last year. Just feel sad for the pony being passed on again and very sad for my children who adore her. Which brings me onto how to tell them. I've got this month if I want to, or could make arrangements within this month. Its H's 6th birthday in a few weeks time - bad timing!!

installments a good idea, well worth asking. owners will prob be glad not having to have the pony back and then advertising etc.
keep us posted x

If you like the pony that much speak to the owners to find out if you can strike a deal.

My thought is if they are nice people and they are having pony back the worst they can say is no and you have lost nothing.

The same thing happened to us with my son's loan pony. His previous owners are lovely people, and because they knew the pony would have a home for life with us (he was 18 at the time), they let us buy him in instalments. We joke now that we bought one leg a month. We had him for 8 years afterwards and he enjoyed being a companion to our horse when my son had finally outgrown him. Sadly, he died from a twisted gut in February 2000, bless him; he was perfect and I say TRY FOR THE INSTALMENTS! Good luck!
