Pony is resting front of fetlock down onto floor. Has had stifle issue diagnosed and injected with steroid last week. Waiting for vet to reply as leg now swollen too but no heat. Any thoughts?

Sounds very worrying. The knuckling over is a serious new symptom. It suggests a severe pain or neurological issue higher up the leg, possibly connected to the stifle or a reaction. The swelling without heat is still a concern. Stop walking the pony and keep them strictly stabled until the vet calls back. This needs urgent vet reassessment today.

If the knuckling came after the swelling then possible nerve compression (which may hopefully resolve if swelling can be addressed?)

If seems fully aware of the leg and is very deliberately choosing that position then would suspect pain related.

Would definitely be worried about swelling in a leg that had recent joint injections even without obvious heat

Would agree that sounds like a vet job

Don’t think he is aware. :-(
