Knutsford, Cheshire

Is anyone from around here we are going to a black tie event on Saturday night at The Mere golf spa hotel and have booked a room so was planning on getting down there about lunchtime, is Knutsford a nice place for some lunch and a walk round, or is there somewhere nearby that's better it's only to kill a few hours in the afternoon am really looking forward to it now.

Knutsford is a great little town with many individual shops and a good selection of cafes and restaurants.

Tatton Park is very near with the entrance just next to the town, and is lovely for a walk round the lake. There is an old hall plus shops and a cafe. Between Tatton Park and Knutsford you will easily pass the afternoon. Mere is only about 10 mins away

thank you I think we will just stay in Knutsford then as it will take us a good 3 hours drive to get there so won't want to drive about too much.

Yes, Knutsford is lovely. Rather pretentious with some seriously expensive shops but plenty of places to eat and consider how the other half lives! I go there for the charity shops Just bear in mind that the road around The Mere is a bit odd if you don't live there - you can't come from Knutsford and turn right at the lights where the entrance to the club is. You need to take the right turn on the bend before it, follow it along and then turn left back onto the A556 at the lights with the pub on the corner opposite Bucklow Hill Garage. The just tootle along and the club is on your left.

Like others have said, it's posh and pretentious, but really nice for a mooch round and some lunch.
