I bought a pair of second hand Konigs off ebay which were delivered yesterday, they're beautiful boots but my calves are just too chubby :(

It's just the top 8" or so that are too tight, I can force them on but they take some serious pulling to get off again, and that's with just tights so I've no hope with jods...

So really my question is can anything be done to add about an inch or so extra to them, or am I going to have to sell them on?

Imo you would be best to sell them on! Königs are very fitted and any extra "filling" can put huge strain on the zips. When I tell you I have to have the zips on my daughter's König boots replaced and have been quoted €160 from them to do it, and God knows how long it will take as they have to be sent away you will see what I mean.

They don't have zips in them, hence taking some pulling off!

That's why I was wondering about the possibility of adjustment, i.e putting zips in or something!

Is that from Konig directly as I've been unable to find any contacts for them online, or is that through a stockist?

i have a pair of the Konigs you are talking about, they are about 15 or so years old, before the zip up boots were so popular. Mine are also tight but do fit, i would think to try to put a zip in would ruin them, I would suggest sell them and buy some of the more modern boot that has all sort of calf sizes and also zips.

Hi
I have a pair of Konigs that didnt have a zip in, however, me being of 50+ and a bit iffy on the weight on/weight off side - sometimes too tight! I took them to a really good Cobblers in Newmarket who put zips in them, and stretched them too (they wet them, and put an expandable boot tree in them, and stretch them a bit at a time) - fantastic!. They also stretched an elderly pair of Regent boots too!

It can be done, but if you really dont think it is worth it, then put them back on ebay!;)

I really would like to keep them, do you know how much extra they managed to stretch into them roughly?
Also I think I got quite a bargain so am happy to spend a little getting them to fit, I just want to know I'm not wasting my money beforehand!
