Has anyone heard of these for towing?
The local garage near me has one for sale for £1500, its S reg, 70000 miles on the clock (??!! very low I think), really good condition. No rust etc etc. They tell me the towing capacity is 2800, which would be enough for what I need. But am unsure as I've never heard of them.
Any input/ideas?

have a look on auto trader to check the value, find the specliast 4 x 4 forums and finally, check with your insurance company to see if they would be happy - I find that talking to my insurance company BEFORE I purchase something, be it horse or car has often saved me a lot of time and money!

I had a P reg. SsangYong Musso - which I think is the same thing before Korando took them over. I had it from new for 4 years and it was brilliant (they had Merc engines in them), but I suspect that it would cost an arm and a leg to maintain nowadays, especially for one that old. They were Korean cars, and the parts were not easy to source for anyone but the franchise garages.

If it is the same model, then the towing capacity would be about right.

I had two Musso’s from new ( N and R reg - traded the first in when they brought out the turbo engine one) and would totally agree they were brilliant. Kept the second one 8 years (till 2005) and had no problems at all. It had over 100,000 miles on the clock, clutch was as good as new and it honestly never broke down. It also towed brilliantly, had a good turning circle and was very comfortable for long journeys.

The Korando was the smaller jeep type vehicle – a friend had one and loved it but she didn’t tow with it so don’t know how it would be in that respect. I would check the availability of parts as they were produced by Daewoo after Ssang Yong and not all the parts were the same so that may potentially cause a problem.

I don't know about the Korando but I have a Rexton and I love him!!!

I did have a few teething problems with the four wheel drive, but now he is cured, I love him a lot, and would highly recommend them.
