Hi everyone just some pics of how Bridie is getting on!

She started lunging last monday (so just over a week now) she goes on the walker for 20min before hand and that helps, she is carrying herself much better but is very weak and a bit unbalanced (she has had over 9months off) but she is very well behaved!

managed to get a few pics of her on Sunday, I'm VERY happy with her weight which was always a problem before surgery.

I am concerned that there might still be something not right with her right hind, but it might be weakness from lack of work and muscle so I will wait and see!
Let me know how everyone else is getting on

Because that is what I was told to use, it is meant to be on tighter but she doesnt work when it is tight, she is going quite nicely in it!

It gets them working from behind a lot more, I also find transistions help...but asking a horse pretty much on boxrest to walk trot walk is tricky....easier towards the end as shes getting tired and is thankful for the few strides of walk!!

She looks like a really good weight and good to hear her temperament has changed for the better.

She may have some tightness over the sacroiliac area - not uncommon with KS injuries. Your physio/chiro should be able to help.

You will be back on board in no time!

this one was a bargain I got it for 28 quid....saw it on ebay got in contact with the seller and she was just down the road so went and picked one up so no P&P!

Lynz what sort of work is yours doing? Bridie is on walker am for 30min and then pm 20min and lunge 15min....(we have sorta gone off programme as she was far behind and now im all confused!)

CBAnglo thats exactly what I'm thinking (we had that convo way before I discovered it was KS) so she is weak but hopefully with some muscle she will get better!

Im so excited about riding so im on my diet to shift some poundage! its a hassle im starving!

Had operation on 5th Nov was then on box rest for few weeks then started to walk out in hand gradually increasing to 15 mins twice a day (started at 5 mins then increased by 5 mins per week). Then turned out in a small area as of 13th Dec - gradually increasing the size, he is still coming in at night. Started lunging on 1st Jan in walk in chambon 5mins for 2 weeks then increase by 5 mins 3rd and 4th week. Review at vets 1st week Feb. The rebah programmes seem to vary hugely though.

Thats really good news holly p, Bridie is looking great.

Lass is doing well i have been back on board for nearly 2 months now and she is doing great different horse i get some pics.

Keep up the hard work its worth it.

Lynz that does vary a lot Bridie isnt getting turned out until she is better for now she watches the other out having fun poor thing!

Julie, get some pics! omg I really cant wait to get on but for another 5 weeks til then! It does suck not seeing her every day but atleast I notice massive improvements when I do see her, I probably wouldnt see them as much if I saw her every day!

I'm going to make a scrap book of Bridies KS Recovery Iv tried to get pics every step of the way!!

When was your boy operated on? What sort of problems have you had? Its intersting hearing other peoples stories, would love to see pics to see what everyones horses look like.

Bridies back looks very funny, but no scar which is amazing!
