Quick question.

My boy has a microchip implanted in the netherlands starting 528.

his passport also starts 528. Should these numbers be the same?

I have a kwpn but i'm not getting out of my cosy bed to look at his passport but i guess you should wait for kwpn ti get back, they are super helpful and speak good english, and will get back to you fast, they will tell you what you need to do - you possibly need a duplicate (correct) passport issued - dont know what youd do with the wrong one, where did he come from and how long you had it?

Have a livery with KWPN also will check her passport in the morning for you.

Have you had your chip scanned to make sure the chip number matches the one logged in the passport?

Not sure if I have read this properly, but the actual passport number will not be the same as the chip number, but the microchip number should be the same as the one on the description page.

I've, had him for a month. Got a routine vetting today, which I do with my other horses every year. I asked for him to be checked for a chip and the number doesn't match the passport number.

It's the first imported horse I've owned and having looked at the kwpn web site, got the impression that the microchip number is the registered passport number.

He is registered as having BSJA points and is the reason that i wanted him. so this could be a real issue to me.

So his chip number does not match the number in the top right corner of your passport?

If you look on the description page of the passport there is also a repeat of the number where it says chip no does this match the chip he has in him. My transpondernummer is the same is chip in my passport and copied on every page.

The reason the passport number will not be the same as the chip number is that the passport number will be the registration number of the foal that is allocated when the brand number is sent out to the breeder. The foals will normally have its id filled in and be chipped and branded at the same time so the chip number will not be known until the forms are filled in but will be recorded on the passport when its issued.

Will be interesting to see what the KWPN say

My boy's numbers match. Hope you get it sorted.

My micro number and ID number do NOT match. Here's why, born in Ireland and chipped here with Irish country code. But it's clearly stated in passport. Meaning ID number starts with 528 but chip number starts with 372.

Don't know if this is helpful. I know they are the same horse as I bred her.
