Hi does anyone know how to translate a KWPN dutch passport? iv tried in google translator and it doesnt make sense.
For example it says colour: schimmel vos geboren which translates to grey born chesnut. My horse is dark bay??
Also it translates on her face is a narrow iregular blaze when she has a star and snip???

It says this was issued in 2002 and she was born in 1996 so colour and markings should be correct right?

Also dont understand the leg markings, doesnt translate??

Can anyone help please. I have had her 4 years and have only really started researching her blood lines/passport!
She also has a horse passport agency passport too if thats any help?

Thanks guys x

Greys are never born grey, they 'grey out' as they get older. So, 'grey born chestnut' is a perfectly reasonable thing to put.

It seems to me as if the KWPN passport does not go with your horse.

You shouldn't have two passports. I have just found out that my mare has two passports (both are actually hers though).

That's a very good point about the greys.. for some reason my brain was thinking chestnut, born grey, I blame the dutch book I just looked at!

ok it says
kleur: schimmel vos geboren

Hoofd: onregelmatige smalle bles, rechter neusgat, twee witte vlekken op de onderlip.

R.V: -
L.V: witbeen achter oplopend
L.A: sok achter oplopend, binnen hoog oplopend
R.A: half witbeen voor hoog oplopend-
overige

hoofd: head, irregular stripe (ie not really a 'blaze' by English definition)

RV/LV : right / left front (rechts voor, links voor I'm guessing)

LA/RA : left / right back (links achter, rechts achter)

near fore: witbeen = white leg = at least to the knee

near hind: sok = just over fetlock, binnen = on the inside

off hind: half witbeen = long white sock

PS you just bumped.. jeez.. give me a minute to type / refer to book!!

Thank you sheep :)

Im sorry the only reason i bumped was because i didnt want it to get lost, threads go really quick in NL sorry :o

Ok so by your description of the legs, its not the same horse! The only markings on my mares legs is one white sock on her right hind leg. All the others are black.

She is also bay not grey?!

What do i do now? she may not even be the age written down

Ta again xx
