Excuse the ignorance here, but how can a horse whose parents are Selle Francais x angloarab tb suddenly become a KWPN? I imagined they were bred from KWPN stock!! Am I missing something!
My KWPN is basically a mix of Holstein/Selle Francais and TB. She was bred in Holland and registered with the Dutch studbook. Most warmbloods are a mix of several breeds once you look at their bloodlines. Arab/TB blood was introduced to lighten up the continental horses and improve their performance and their uses moved from working horses to sport horses. Am now very intrigued as to what this stallion looks like. Hope someone on here manages to find one!
Thanks isz, I had never really thought about that before! So you could have really quite a mixed bag and register it as a KWPN? I'd like to see what he looks like too.
Yep, pretty much - If it's born in a certain country, then it can be their Warmblood - or in Germany, that can pertain to states within the country! e.g. a Westphalian x Holstien, born in Oldenburg, is an Oldenburger!
