Does anyone know whether the KY Rotary bits are DR legal ( for unaffiliated, PC and poss novice afflilated comps)?

I really like the look of them but can't find any info on whether I can use them or not.

If they're not, any suggestions of a similar bit? I like the non pinch design and the fact you can move the parts independantly.

Thank you.

hi
i dont think they are. the only bit with a moving part in it that i know of as dressage legal is the KK with the roller in the middle.
i would go through the rules with a fine tooth comb though!

I've not heard of this bit but assume it's like a Mylar so I googled it and found a forum where people were asking it was good. One person said they were going to try it until they found out it's illegal for dressage.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Maybe we should campaign for more freedom of choice - the regulations need to be updated every now and then, I suppose.

I think I might. It seems silly that this bit is not allowed, as it is one of the only well designed bits that doesn't pinch and gives clear signals. While I'm at it I think I'll campain for bitless bridles (though not hackamores) to also be made legal.
