Has anyone ever used a Ky Rotary bit or have any experiences with them?? And are they dressage legal? Bought one today (double jointed, loosering snaffle) for my girl as we are beggining to run out of ideas and it looked like it might just do the trick! Will try it out on her later. Just wondering what you think about them!

Thnks very much!

We got one for our head-tossing ex-racer. We had tried everything and the EDT could find nothing wrong.... this bit has been amazing...totally pinchless. We are using it one hole lower and have taken away the flash and martingale....

Thats great to hear! I rode her in it today (she is also an ex-racer) and she was fantastic, I am soo pleased! Do you know if it is dressage legal, as if she carries on like this I will most definatly be using it for dressage!

Rotating snaffles are acceptable for the dressage phase of British Eventing....but I havent got a rule book for BD.

I cant see why not....

We are thinking about getting the 3 ring version for XC as she seems so much more relaxed. Hubby was stating to think he would never crack the head throwing...

There's already been a post about these actually. They are currently NOT dressage legal as it takes AGES to get a bit approved.

That said, from the outside, you'd never know it was a Rotary so guess it's up to you whether it's worth taking the risk

Personally, I would - not sure if I would if I was at a 'serious' level though...

Ok thank you, I think I will take the risk and just always take an emergancy snaffle in case, she wears a flash for dressage so I really doubt anyone would see. I checked the PC rulebook and I think it is fine for that which is what I will mainly be doing with her this year anyway! Thanks very much!
