This was this morning so it's nice to see Lacey has been included into the gang even if she has drawn the short straw and has to stand on guard!
Farrier was here yesterday and did a great job on her although there are still a fair few holes taken out of her feet. The good news is he's pleased with her quality of horn (made him sweat buckets when he was trying to cut through it, lol!) and reckons she will be fine with just a good diet so no need for anything drastic which is good to know, although they'll look a lot better each time they're trimmed too and it could take nearly a year to get all of the cracks grown down. A few more days off just chilling and it's then to work for her.

The minute I saw your post on the index I started smiling.

She looks very happy standing guard - I am sure you will indulge her with 2' deep straw/shavings if she needs it.

Lovely.

Lol, that's nice of you, thanks. I'm sure she will be indulged too, she has a very fine coat so will probably appreciate a new winter coat before too long!
She has settled down so well now, not so much of the jumping like a startled hare any time she hears a noise (our family and friends aren't known for their quietness, ask SN!) and she loves all the attention you can give her too. She watched Joey being hot shod and never moved a muscle even with the steaming and hissing and was good to do herself which was a relief too. It's all good experience for later when I take her out into the big wide world!

Thanks. The fields are only because we have had so much rain unlike you over that side of the country; I'm hoping it doesn't get too wet else they'll have to start coming in if I want any grazing over the winter for them - which I do!

Looking very settled! Why when looking at your field pics I ust think "kick on!"? Not just yet on D though!

I have been far too jealous to reply to any of your threads on Lacey so far

Keep saying to D we ought to make some fences in the hedgelines and have put up three for Joey to bounce over!

Sorry, didn't mean to rub it in!

Couldn't believe it when I saw the ad first, she just jumped out at me and I would have bought her unseen but they wanted me to go down to meet them which was nice so I had to wait a bit longer but we went down on Sunday and collected her Wednesday cos I couldn't wait any longer, impatient child that I am!

She's settled with the babies really well but Joey still tries to see her off although she gave him a good boot yesterday so he might mind his manners for a bit although I doubt it!
