Hi all, I have an 18.1 thoroughbred ex pointer. He, as a thoroughbred sometimes struggles with condition.
Could people please let me know what condition feeds they have fed and which have worked best. He never gets over heated or too fizzy on anything so just looking for something that will really help beef him up a little!
thanks all!

Mine has always erred on the lean side but has done very well last 2 years on:

Spillers hi fibre nuts, 1 scoop a day - (TB's tend to do better on nuts than mixes).
Alfa A, 2 scoops a day
Speedi Beet Scoop per day
Baileys Outshine, 1 mug a day.

All split into 2 feeds plus ad lib haylage very little grass as he's prone to the L word so we keep it hi fibre and low starch.

With my rescues I have had great success with D&H Build Up Cubes. I use vegie oil too. You can feed up to 1/2 pint a day if you need to. This will give slow release energy and put a fab shine on the coat too.

I have one that always looked skinny - after 7 months of having him he has put on 80 Kg, by being fed Allen and Page Calm and condition. I feed this to put weight on but not excite him. Hope this helps.

A&P Calm and Condition is brilliant.

I feed it with speedibeet, oil, and Alfa A.

Lots of good grass and/or haylage is really important too. I have found that with poor doers you can chuck as much conditioning feed in them as you like, but if you haven't got good grazing or haylage, it just won't happen.

If you are not worried about fizziness, then the best thing I have found for my 7/8TB is Alfa A, oil and micronised barley plus ad lib haylage. Works out quite cost-effective as well.
