Idiots. If the image was "some years old" why on earth did they feel they had to publish it now as if it were something that had just happened.

Everyone knows that they went a step too far making such claims and I think probably realise how unbelievable those claims were.

They now look very stupid. Gooooooooooooooooooood!!!!

It is worth pointing out that it is these self same organisation and these monitors who regularly claim that 66% of hunts are breaking the law. the way these people work is by constantly repeating unsubstantiated statements until people believe them. It's important that they be challenged.

"We do find it instructive, though, that we have posted more than fifty images before the hunting community has found one it thinks it can challenge! "

After I challenged it and they had to retract it they have blocked me from their blog so I can't challenge any more. And they talk about a 'balanced debate'.

Also they deleted all the posts from the blog debating the photo.

What a bunch of plonker's, and in the photo of the dead calf where is the pack of hounds?? Surly if the hounds killed it the monitor would of taken pics of 'the act' as evidence.
Why don't these people get off there arses and get a proper job and leave hunting alone.

It hasn't been removed. It is still showing as Image of the day 16 in the november archives

Together with the claim that monitors saw the calf killed and eaten?

This is the text with the pic
'When hunting hounds rampage through a farm, this is the damage they can cause. Repeal the Hunting Act, and this becomes even more common than it already is, causing not only horrific suffering for the livestock involved, but distress for the farmer too. Support our campaign to protect the Hunting Act:'

looking at this revolting photo of this poor calf it is obvious its been dead a while, and been supper for most likely birds of prey and/or foxes, LACS showing yet more ignorance!!

Unfortunately it isn't just ignorance as they claimed they had actually seen the animal killed and consumed by a pack.

Completely agree i have always been firmly middle way myself. What we need is sensible competent regulation based on solid principles. Not the mess we have now.

If LACS claimed to have seen the pack killing this calf where is the pic of hounds actually eating the carcase! I have seen the pic of the calf but with no hounds, so until the monitor who took this pic comes up with the footage of the attack then I for one will never believe this calf was killed by hounds!!!

The hunt/hounds are INNOCENT until proven otherwise
