32 is the inchs measurement of your chest ie like your bra. I'm in a maids 32" and am a fairly small 8 and it's fine for me, is fairly tight but as it's my tweed I don't wear many layers underneath, and I did manage to get it of with s broken collar bone (with help and pain!!!) so can't b too tight! I would say that a 34" would be an 8/10 depending how large your chest is, am pretty sure my actual hunt jacket is a 36" this was handed down to me tho and on the larger side but this often ends up with lots of layers underneath :) (always worth remembering about layers!)

wot beckey said! 38" would be about a 12. I'm in a 36" at the moment and it's too tight! On that subject, I've been looking on ebay for ages for a 38". Anyone got one that they would like to swap for a 36"?

Oh fab thank you. Well I'm a 32 in the bust department. So it should be fine for a heavy weight hunting coat. The back of my present tweed is 13 inches and this one is 14.5 so room for layers and movement. I just don't want anything too tight on my shoulders. Thanks guys - will purchase said jacket for a fun filled winter!

Yep that should be fine then, even my tweed 32" isn't too tight round my shoulders and I have got fairly broad shoulders (lots of swimming and riding), you sound about the same size as me and of I was going to get another hunt coat it would be a 34". Have lots of fun this winter wearing it, can't wait for the hunting season to start :)
