Lovely pic - except I'm feeling very anxious looking at haynets tied to a perfect fence for them to paw/kick and catch a foot /shoe in the wire - I'd put the hay well away from the fence , and ideally string electric along top of fence pointing in so they didn't get close to the wire .

I don’t plan to keep nets going - once the last of the rails are in this weekend, they’ll have access to the full field and then will only get hay on the ground when they really need it.

It was just the combination of limited grazing and a lot of frost this morning that made me feel sorry for them.

Luckily both of them are very sensible with their legs, and are unshod.
