I have a rather delicate question! Can anyone point me in the direction of jodphurs which have a seam free gussett? I have been riding for years and have always had the problem of saddle sores. The other day on the radio a professional lady cyclist was discussing the same problem, only caused by a bike saddle. She recommended no underwear (as the seams will rub), lots of vaseline, and seam free cycling shorts. I have looked in my local saddlers but all jods I see have seams between the legs! Any ideas??

I don't know any jods without a stitched gusset - thought endurance riding might have something, but couldn't find any. It did occur to me - if they make cycling shorts without seams, maybe they make 'longs' as well! You can certainly buy cycling tights, so called.

Ive always had the same problem coz im a skinny, boney little thing and i bought a pair of padded cycling shorts and just wearing them under my jods has made a difference so you could maybe try that?

Buy yourself a sheepskin saddle saver !!!!
I used to have the same problem, but since having the seat saver I can ride for hours problem free, plus they keep your bum warm in the winter and cool during the summer.
The best £40 i ever spent

OMG, I have been wondering the same thing!! Padded pants do seem to help, although if its the more 'delicate' area try a Tena lady pad or similar - that works! Saddle savers don't really so much as the seam is still between you and the saddle.

I have to say though that I have often wondered why they don't make jods with like a seam free area in the middle - I have a pair of Nike running trews that have it! If they weren't so slidey I would ride in them.
