LAFI KILLED AT CATTERICK?

Did anyone see the sprint at Catterick last Saturday? I saw coverage on TV and to me it looked like poor Lafi broke his leg. Of course the coverage concentrated on the winner and nothing was mentioned about what happened to Lafi who always ran his heart out and seemed such an honest horse. I was just wondering if anyone else had perhaps witnessed the race first hand or heard what happened? I presume though that this 7 y.o horse's life has been cut short on the racetrack.

You are sadly correct - just looked him up on the Racing Post site and it says he died as a 7yo

Yeah it looked awful, he stumbled a few times and when pulled up his leg was just hanging, looked like he shattered his cannon bone, I thought he would have probably been shot there and then but wasn't sure. Kind of puts me off having a go at pointing my mare! But then again although accidents are fewer on the flat, when they do happen they're usually fatal.

I saw that race...poor Lafi..thought they might have said something afterwards but I didn't hear anything. His leg was just hanging there, and the Jockey dismounted but I didn't see anything else aftr that.
