My mare is great with people & is relativley easy, she is in a good size paddock,
my problem is she seems to really dislike other horses, her ears are flat back, she snorts & backs up toward them & is constantly on guard with hay, attention etc, its making her really difficult to handle when bringing her in & turning out, she seems to just stand snaking by the gate (tape) when i go to put her headcollar on does anyone have any advice???? handling tips - there is electric tape between all of the horses, so far she has been golden in every other way & i dont want this to make her & me anxious!! she is my first horse xx

could you not have your own wee paddock where she can see the other horses but not feel stressed by having to share with them. f she is guarding her hay, she may once have been in a position where she had to be protective of it. Normally there is a reason for this sort of behaviour.

Thanks for your reply CM xx

She does have her own paddock - they all do - its just that they are right next to each other & she could literally jump it without any effort!!! the other people on the yard are great though & she's on heat at the moment so i can almost hear Barry White playing every time i am near her - she is loved up! x
