If it's the place I think you mean (one in Leeds?) then having never kept a horse there and not knowing the owners I can't comment much on how the place is run (aside from I've noticed when driving past they never seem to have horses turned out before 9am, although they do seem to get turnout most days from what I've seen in passing) but as someone who lives nearby I do know that a large percentage of the land in that area has been known to flood in the past when we get heavy rainfall. That would probably be my main concern if enquiring about livery there (ie do they have any fields that don't get flooded or do horses have to stay in?) Fields look to be of a decent enough size with reasonable amounts of hedges for natural shelter though and I can attest that the hacking around there is exceptional. Also if your friend was into jumping at all there's a yard within hacking distance (maybe 20 mins if mostly stuck to walk, faster if trotted) that runs shows through the summer and I believe their jumps and arena are also available to hire. Hope some of that is helpful even if it is mainly regarding the location rather than the yard itself

They are very big into hunting now yes, Gary's son Garath used to show jump to a pretty high level ! not sure if he still does or if hes turned more to hunting now.
