Lambing Placement

Hi there

Hope someone can help.

I am a first year Vet Medicine student looking for a lambing placement for Late March/April 2011. I dont have any previous experience and am struggling to find farms that need help and that have in excess of 200 Lambing Ewes. If any one can offer any advise/help that would be great

Where abouts are you?
Have you looked in the farmers guardian or farmers weekly?
What about asking a local farmer if they know anybody near you.
Failing that drive around until you find a large flock and ask at the farm.
Good luck, it's not easy work, and always goes on through the night, i would'nt want to do it!!

What part of the country are you wanting? My nieghbouring farmer has a large flock and is desparate for help, but the timings may not be right.....

Do you not have a huge database of people looking for students? The RVC does and new placements are still coming online all the time...
