Just wanted to say a massive well done to everyone on HHO who has helped with the logistics of saving this mare. Its nice to know that with all the b*****ness that has started on this forum, that when it matters you can all pull together and do some good. You should all be proud!

(for all you who don't know whats going on, there are a few previous threads on here that explain it, but in the short of it, a faithful 28 year old mare is being rescued from the sales)

I've been following all this, when push comes to shove, folk on HHO are quite capable of putting their shoulders into it and getting things achieved. :) This isn't the first time, and it won't be the last I am quite sure.

Good on you. I hope all goes according to plan.

Agree. Lovely:)..... don't want to put a downer but I can't help noticing the 21 year old too going through ............ where do you stop 'eh:(?

Hey, well done all please keep us up to date on her progress, it's great to know when needed hho pulls together and will give this mare a great retirement. X

Well done guys.

But veterans are very capable - I know a 30 year old who is ridden and jumped and does dressage, you'd never know they were 30, and a 37 year old who is still hacked 3-4 times a weel. A friend's 42 year old passed away in their sleep just earlier this year and was working up to their last day - teaching children to ride and loved his job.

So just because they are a veteran does not mean.....

I agreed, I have a 35 year old and a 21 year old. The problem here is 28 year old being sold through a sale. If she were being loaned or something there would be no worries. I think people were just worried that she would end up with the meat man or with clueless novice owners after a cheap first horse.
