After having a ddft injury in march and trying to a barefoot rehab at home my horse is now lame again. He was improving but seems to have gone backwards over the last couple of weeks and now is generally uncomfortable all round.I was concerned this may happen as he has hock spavins which wereanaged but now I think have flared up also.
Vet wants to put front shoes on and medicate nav bursa block. I am reluctant as I think his foot shape has improved since they came off and with shies back on his feet will revert back to how they were.
So am now feeling quite crap about the whole situation, considering rockley as an option but also now thinking with the additional issues he has whether to just retire him (vets other suggestion) as he is comfortable in the field. This would be a shame as he is only 13.
Bit of a pointless post really but just wondered if anyone had experience of this type of injury in addition to hindlimb issues and outcome.
