Brought in from field lame on front right last Thursday. Hasn't done any work recently. No signs of heat or swelling.

Bearing weight OK but slightly short when trotted up on hard ground. Hopping lame in very deep sand school esp. on bends.

Yesterday no obvious shortness when trotted up on hard ground. Intermitintly lame in deep sand school, again esp round corners.

She has improved 70% since last week but still worried what it could be??
Horse has no history of lameness... but she has got slightly flat front feet.
I'm just about to start bringing this mare back into work so any ideas what this could be/ could have been? Want to avoid!

Farrier is out tomorrow but any views appreciated.

Could be anything really, possibly an abscess brewing or a foot bruise at best. See what farrier says - if nothing obvious give her a weeks rest and see how she looks. If still lame get the vet and take it from there. That is what I would do anyway.

With no evidence to swelling or heat in the leg but especially lame on a circle I would suspect possible collateral ligament damage and I think you need to get a vet out. If this is what it turns out to be talk to your farrier about putting on multi-directional leverage reduction shoes as these can assist recovery by reducing strain on the ligaments in question.
