hiya everyone Sam went lame at the weekend, was resting his right fore and was favouring his other leg a lot, there was no swelling, no heat, no digital pulse, picked out the foot and there was nothing unusual there, no punctures etc. Although he did seem tender in his frog, especially in his heel, unfortunately its quite stony in his field so is possible he bruised something. Rested him for a couple of days and treated him with salt water as he had a but of thrush there but there wasn't really much of a difference so called the vet who said they would come down on monday.
Anyway today I went up there and he was 99% sound, trotting and charging around like a loon, no head bobbing, wasn't favouring a leg, all raring to get going (lord knows where
lol) so am hoping that he either got a corn or its just bruised but can't see any discolouration in the foot, thought it might be an abscess but surely that would just carry on getting progressively worse rather than on and off sound I would have thought.
I was just wondering what your thoughts are really, the vet is still coming down anyway as he's due his vacs so if he goes downhill again at least the vet will be coming down still.
(fingers crossed he'll stay sound
