Poor old lad at our yard definitely not 'right', not hopping lame maybe 2/10. Has thrush in left hind which is being treated but still an issue. Definitely seems unhappy about his right fore too. Abscess brewing? Never been lame in four years, tucked up in stable happily munching had some devil's claw and farrier coming. Just wondering about Cushing's too as he is about twenty? Does laminitis come on slowly sometimes? Poor old boy he is so lovely.

Laminitis can occur at this time of year with the frosty grass, mine is diagnosed with cushings and he was 'footy' for ages before other symptoms appeared ( please see thelaminitissite for invaluable and accurate help)....If you are at all unsure, ask your vet to come and take bloods for PPID/Cushings and or EMS....best not to leave it :)

Thanks he isn't mine but much loved, so odd seeing him struggle it's always mine that's 'broken'! Def not a kick 'cos turned out alone, but grass was frostiest in his sheltered field. He is there 'cos he feels the cold and it has the most shelter from the wind! Vet will be called if he isn't a lot better soon.
