Hi
My horse Tilley (8 year old mare) came up lame right rear leg just after going into trot on Friday.
Walked Tilley home and called vet.
She will not put weight on rear leg and there is some swelling.
Tilley is not shod on rear, vet checked for abcesses and gave her a good check over.
Vet gave anti-inflammatory injection and pain killer + pain killer to be given every morning for next 4 days.
Tilley was then stabled.
She has been walked round yard 3 times a day to stop her seizing up.
Called vet again today - given stronger pain killer and put out in field.
Field is very wet and muddy and am concerned she could slip.
Any advise would be aappreciated - should I stable over night, and turn out in morning. Any other thoughts on the possible nature of the injury.
