My horse is lame in his left front leg, there isn't any heat or swelling anywhere, the farrier checked for corns or start of an abscess and there's nothing. I have a feeling he's pulled a muscle in his shoulder. He's quite happy walking round the field and doesn't look in pain but looks uncomfortable in trot, luckily he's sensible and just ambles round the field. How long does it take to heal? Is there anything I can do to help? He lives out 24/7 I did think about bringing him in but I think gentle walking around is probably better than standing in a stable? He's 18 by the way.

get the chrio out and get your self some comfery oil and massage it in to the area you think it is rest is the next best think it coulb take a good couple of weeks!

Did it just come on suddenly?

I would still not rule out it being an abscess. I have been down this route with mine - he was only lame on a small circle. Had farrier, vet and physio and he was still lame. Can't remember how many time the farrier actually saw him but it turned out to be an abscess that had worked it's way right round the outside of his hoof.

He did not have any heat in his foot either.

Sorry haven't been on for a while vet said he looks a bit stiff. not that lame and probably pulled a muscle, if it hasn't gone in a couple of weeks he'll come and have a look again.

What do you mean "Typical"
