Lame horse

My horse came in from the field with an over reach and a swollen leg.. the swellings went down a couple of days later and he was never lame on it. Then today I rode him and he was really lame in trot, its the same leg he over reached on but theres no swelling or heat. Anyone know what this could be due to and should I call the vet? Thanks x

How is the cut looking?

It could be that the movement causes it to hurt!
Trotting especially will cause the cut to open and close.


If in any doubt call a vet.
Even if to give advice over the phone to start.

The cut looks like its starting to heal... he was perfectly sound yesterday which is way i'm concerned he's so lame in trot..
